1899 Club experience huge disappointment
The 1899 Club experience was not good, despite the pricey ticket. Un-air conditioned buses from Expo Center (Lot D) were provided for everyone except a few fortunate individuals, regardless of tournament ticket price. We sat in bleaching seats outside, as there was no awning. The tiny 1899 Club had few bar stools at high-tops, with no chairs or couches. After the power went out on Thursday, the A/C was off for 30 mins and the refrigerators stopped cooling the food. We were advised to eat the ice cream before it melted. There were no scoreboards out on the course. It was organized by the WGA, not the PGA as I had thought. I prefer events with scoreboards and comfortable tour buses. The very small staff of servers was hardworking and welcoming. The food was excellent with a nice variety, but the bar only served beer and wine. The 1899 Club should have had a full bar. I rated this experience one star, but doubled it to two due to the beautiful Aronimink and the star-studded field.
